How To Fix Carpet Dents
If the carpet has a dent that is very large or long you may need to place a couple of ice cubes to fill the spot.
How to fix carpet dents. Place a damp cloth over the indentation. Apply steam to the area. The carpet doesn t have to be 100 percent dry slightly damp is fine. If the dent is large or long use extra ice cubes as needed allow the ice cubes to melt.
Let the ice melt for at least a few hours. If the dent is already set after you move the furniture try placing an ice cube in the dent and let it melt into the dent for a couple hours. Wait 12 hours blot up wet spots then use the edge of a spoon to lift carpet fibers back up. Afterwards use a towel to soak up the excess water then use a spoon to fluff the carpet back up.
Place a clean damp cloth over them and hold an iron on medium heat several. First place an ice cube in the carpet dent. Place an ice cube on the dent. The ice cubes will slowly melt and after 12 hours blot up any wet spots with an absorbent towel or sponge.
To remove carpet indentations. Remove the cloth and use a spoon to fluff up the carpet. Turn the iron to the highest setting and allow it to heat up. Be careful not to damage the carpet when trying to fluff it up.
Or steam away dents. Hold the iron 4 to 6 inches 10 to 15 cm over the carpet and apply a steady jet of steam to the affected area. Fill a steam iron with water.
